How to Write an Effective Abstract or Proposal for a Conference
One effective way teachers can contribute to the profession is to share their insights from their own classroom or from classroom-based research at conferences. Proposals should be less than 1 page and include the
following information:
Title of your poster presentation
· Main point: What do you hope to convey to fellow teachers? (Suggested: 50-100 words)
· Content: What will you show? Give a brief overview of the details of your presentation. What approaches will you share? What unique contribution does your teaching approach make? (Suggested: 100-200 words)
· Take away for teachers: What will your fellow teachers be able to do after visiting your poster and talking with you? How can they implement these ideas in their classes? (Suggested: 50-100 words)
